FORMAT

This prepares a disk for use.

The format command checks a disk for defects and creates a list where all the names of the disk’s files will be stored.

C> format a: Formats the diskette in the A drive.

If you FORMAT many disks type Yes, until you have finished formatting all your disks.

When you cmplete the format command with a disk that already contains files it will delete all the contents of the disk.
